AGTZ Twin Tail was born out of the need to tell a dramatic story of a racing icon of the late ‘60s, the long tail-turned-short-tail A220. More than half a century later its legend is still an unrelenting source of inspiration, as the next chapters of the history are now written by the project’s patrons commissioning their own bespoke cars. Together with the collector cars market experts @lasquadra_ and the artisans from @zagato1919 they create configurations like this one, presenting the future owner’s own take on the story, which adds further to its value.

AGTZ Twin Tail originally told the story of A220 with the 1731 serial number. However, it was one of eight cars built over the span of two years. One of the updated vehicles built for the 1969 season was #1736. Featuring a more aerodynamically sculpted nose, prominent radiators mounted in the massive tail, and some mechanical improvements, it showed some promising performance in the Le Mans test, however finished the race prematurely due to technical issues.

Today AGTZ Twin Tail #3 pays a tribute to this car, most importantly its breathtaking aesthetics and the striking livery, as appeared in the 1969 24h Le Mans race. The new design brings back the spirit of the original in a faithful, and yet overtly progressive modern manner.
